Hiccups

So this weeks #AStoryAWeek was a little harder to complete, but I got there in the end - only 15 minutes past the midnight deadline.  It's called "Awash" and is 3,114 words long. It's written in the first person again, which I think is a habit I'm going to try and break for this weeks effort, and I'm reasonably pleased with it. It's definitely one of those stories that was a lot clearer in my head than when I tried to get it on screen. There was some sort of stylistic hiccup between my brain and my fingertips and I am going to blame it entirely on medication. Anyway, I need to give it a quick review and then I will post an excerpt online - I'm nice like that.
It's about a mop.
I know - you can't wait.
